Why I stopped reading every tarot spread like a verdict

I used to read spreads as if the cards were trying to close the case. If The Tower showed up, I braced. If The Lovers appeared, I started narrating meaning too quickly. It made every reading feel louder than it needed to be, and it quietly trained me to look for final answers in places that are better at pattern recognition than certainty.

The shift happened when I started treating spreads like a strong question rather than a final ruling. A good reading can tell you what energy is present, what dynamic is hidden, or what fear is distorting your perception. That is enough. It does not also need to become a fate machine.

This made my public posts better too. Instead of publishing dramatic conclusions, I could talk about what changed in how I understood a situation. That is more honest and more useful for anyone reading along, especially people who are already vulnerable and tempted to outsource judgment.

If I still use tarot daily, it is because this approach leaves room for real life. Cards can clarify, unsettle, encourage and challenge. They do not need to impersonate a judge to matter.
